Count The Cars Then Count The Bikes. Awaiting The Green Paint (August 11, 2016)

How many bikes do you see here in the first photo?   How many cars?

Just awaiting the application of the green paint demarcating the Phase II Queens Boulevard bike lane:

You never know when an ambulance guy will leave you in the street because of your dirty underwear.

DeBlasio's Boondoggle. Where Are The Bikes In The Queens Boulevard "Bike Lane"?

Indeed, where are the bikes?   Looks like a skateboard park to me.  See imagery below taken one year ago on August 8, 2015 after the completion of the Phase I bike lane.

Parkers Piqued. So Long Service Road.

Queens Boulevard begins its Phase II introduction of  bicycle lanes in Elmhurst on the heavily travelled roadway.   Businesses and fraternal organizations upset at the loss of scores of on-street parking.   (Seen in photos below:  outside the Italian Charities Building at the corner of Queens Boulevard and Van Loon Street).

THEN AND NOW.
THEN AND NOW.
LOOKING WEST.
